I'm sure we can get someone to model these soon !
Very many hanks to all who helped make this event a success - we managed to make £980.00 for the club - Well done to everyone involved...
The weather was very kind to us again and there was virtually no wind. Richard & Co did a brilliant job again
After celebrating Sue’s birthday down in the harbour, it was back to the Tavern for the quiz. The island was quite busy and we were joined but quite a few campers who helped to swell the clubs coffers! (and win the cash prize)
A good time was had by all...
This was the culmination of 3 days solid celebrating – didn’t she do well! The lovely cake was provided by Gwen & George.
This years fun day is to be held on July 4th and as before its expected to be a
great day out with club members.
There is a great list of things planned for the day, and if you have any more
ideas for the day please let
Gill know as
soon as possible.
A safety alert has been issued to boaters about portable gas cookers with integral gas canisters following incidents where people have been seriously burnt.
The Boat Safety Scheme (BSS) is with Hampshire County Council through its Trading Standards service, urging boat owners to take extra care to follow the manufacturers' operating
instructions for these stoves and to not use them onboard boats.
Read the details and the tips to avoid potential problems here.
Generally fire is unlikely on a boat that is well maintained to minimum safety standards, it is a grave concern to boaters who can be caught unawares
or in a situation where escape is difficult. The fire advice
portal has links to advice on preventing fires and how to plan for fire breaking out on a boat.
Well, it’s great to see all the boats back in the water.
The second craning went really well, despite some really mixed weather.
Thanks to
Richard and his team, the lads who manned to workboat, and an extra special thank you to Julie (Royalty) who did a sterling job
A man and a woman have been airlifted to
hospital after a fire on a boat at Shell Island in Gwynedd.
North Wales Fire Service said crews were called to the blaze at 1750 BST on
Good Friday.
Two men and two women were onboard the boat which was found on fire half in
the water and half onshore.
The pair were taken to hospital by an RAF helicopter from Anglesey with
smoke inhalation. Fire officers said they believe the blaze was an accident.

Well, the weekend of the Commodores Ball is nearly upon us and like you I'm looking forward it. As you've probably seen in the diary there will be a clay pigeon shoot during the day followed by a great party in the evening with a Circus theme as well as fancy dress.
If you've got any items that would be useful decoration for the circus theme then why not bring them along and help to decorate the room. There will also be donations and a raffle on the evening so please bring along plenty of spare change.
There's also the new SISPC T-Shirt Competition and the results for the Caption Competition that will be drawn on the evening. If you've not yet entered these competitions then now's your chance
If like me you are not staying on Shell Island for the evening you will be
glad to know that the tide is not over the road for the party
The ball on Sat 7th March was brilliant, with everyone making a marvellous effort with their costumes (Scouse came as a tramp!) Many clowns were unrecognisable (especially Barbara, Jane & Jo) and some
of the non clown outfits were inspirational. We collected £182 in all, making a small dent in the NEW ENGINE FUND. There was a raffle, personalised key rings, popcorn & poppers, Brian’s lucky number cards and the contribution from the Clay shoot. The caption competition
was won by me (Gill) but I think this was because only 2 families entered!!! Thanks for the book token Matt & Mavis. We had juggling, unicycling, fortune telling, a flea circus and general clowning around, and as usual, a good time was had by all!

This is the winning logo from the T-shirt logo design competition that closed on the night of the Commodores Ball. Scouse has promised to look into the production of this onto the club T shirts and when we
know how much each T-Shirt will cost we will let you know
On the morning of the ball, about twenty of us made our way to the Acorn Beach to join in the Clay shoot. 10 Competed, 4 girls had a token shoot, and the rest were spectators. Scouse looked after the instruction and safety, Will sorted out the trap, and Rosemary very kindly
kept a strict eye on the scores. There were a couple of obvious contenders (I think Lol’s a poacher in his other life) and the title was eventually taken by Will in a shootout. We all had a really good laugh, despite the cold – many thanks to those who made it possible
(Tom – next time get the kettle on!!!)
