The idea for a club for the Sailors and Boaters on Shell Island was first mooted when a small number of them approached Mr Workman Senior, just over 25 years ago. He was uncertain whether a club would have a future, but after a few discussions with 'young' George, the approval was given. The club is affiliates us to the RYA and as such enables us to take advantage of the facilities offered by other clubs, share our facilities and hospitality, and make numerous friends in the sailing world. We enjoy many social occasions when we all get together, raise money when we can to improve our facilities and have numerous fund raising events for causes close to our hearts like the RNLI and Welsh Air Ambulance. We all have a genuine love of Shell Island and the surrounding area, and enjoy coming here to start our sailing journeys, enjoy many of the social activities on offer or just generally chill out and re-charge our batteries for the next week ahead. We pride ourselves that most of us like to help each other out where we can, and we welcome new members whether sailing or social.
